Tataridamashi-hen, Part 5 (祟騙し編其ノ伍, Curse-Deceiving Chapter, Part 5) is the thirteenth episode of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Gou.
Summary
Keiichi Maebara successfully gathers a large number of villagers to join him in protesting the Child Welfare Office. However, Kuraudo Ooishi uses his authority as a police officer to coerce Keiichi into dispersing the crowd. Before he can do so, extended members of the Sonozaki family appear and force Ooishi to stand down. Keiichi and the club enter the Child Welfare Office. Oryou Sonozaki and Akane Sonozaki visit the mayor and have him call the Child Welfare Office, insisting that they acquiesce to Keiichi's demands. Harayama visits the Houjou residence with Ooishi in tow.
That night, Keiichi receives a call from Satoko, who informs him that her uncle had been arrested and thanks him for his help. The following day, Satoko joins her friends at the Watanagashi Festival. She leads Keiichi away to thank him for his actions and brings him to her home to give him something. While there, Teppei suddenly appears and assaults Keiichi with a bat. Keiichi manages to wrestle the bat away and beats Teppei to death with it. Satoko runs away in horror.
Keiichi wakes up in a hospital bed and is visited by Katsuya Kumagai. When Keiichi asks about Ooishi, Kumagai abruptly leaves. Some time later, Keiichi is visited by Rena Ryuuguu, who claims that Ooishi crashed the Watanagashi Festival with a gun and Mion, Shion, Rika, and Satoko ended up dead.
