Nekodamashi-hen, Part 3 (猫騙し編其ノ参, Cat-Deceiving Chapter, Part 3) is the sixteenth episode of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Gou.

Summary

Rika Furude wakes in her house with Satoko Houjou by her side. Satoko comforts Rika by telling her that her "dreams" have important meaning. She then pulls back the blanket over Rika, revealing that she has cut open Rika's stomach. Satoko claims that Oyashiro has deemed her to replace Rika as his priestess and stabs Rika with the ritual hoe. Rika thinks back to when she first escaped the loops of Hinamizawa and how she tried to leave Hinamizawa afterwards. Rika comes to believe that her desire to leave is the reason behind her suffering. Satoko rips out Rika's entrails while blaming her for forcing her to kill.

Rika wakes by the river of Hinamizawa with Satoko by her side. The club is playing a game in the water. Rika temporarily gives up trying to solve the loops and joins her friends. Rika later tells Satoko that she loves Hinamizawa. As time passes, Rika refers to this loop as remarkably peaceful. None of her friends turn violent, leading Rika to believe that she can escape the torturous loops by simply playing along. After the Watanagashi Festival, Rika follows Jirou Tomitake and Miyo Takano, who claim they wish to talk to her.
