Ange Ushiromiya (右代宮 縁寿, Ushiromiya Enje) is the daughter of Rudolf and Kyrie Ushiromiya and Battler's younger sister.

During Alliance of the Golden Witch, Ange is instructed not to reveal her true identity to Battler, thus she adopts the name Gretel.

Profile

Background

Appearance

Ange appears as a teenage girl with auburn hair and blue eyes. She typically wears a white skirt and blouse accompanied by a black double-breasted jacket with flowing sleeves. She also wears a black belt and a purple bow, as well as a red arm-sash emblazoned with the One-Winged Eagle. Ange always wears pink beads in her hair, which she received from Battler Ushiromiya after he won them from a crane game in an amusement park.

The six-year old version of her seen in Twilight of the Golden Witch wears a green dress with white accents and a purple bow around the collar. She also wears a golden key around her neck, given to her by BATTLER at the beginning of Twilight.

Personality

Ange is singularly dedicated to learning the truth of the Rokkenjima massacre and her family's demise. She holds a lifelong hatred for Eva Ushiromiya, the sole survivor of the massacre. She believes that Eva was responsible as Eva refuses to tell her what had occurred.

Plot

End of the Golden Witch

Ange is briefly mentioned as having attended the 1985 family conference during an extended flashback.

Requiem of the Golden Witch

Ange appears during the Tea Party alongside Lion Ushiromiya. The two are forced to watch a version of events wherein Kyrie and Rudolf Ushiromiya are the culprits, massacring the rest of the family before being killed by Eva. Bernkastel refers to this as the "truth" of what occurred on October 4-6, 1986.

Twilight of the Golden Witch

A six-year-old Ange serves as the protagonist, being told a story designed by BATTLER. She is given a key at the story's beginning; BATTLER claims that she will use the key to make a decision when he has finished telling his tale. Throughout the story, Ange's personality vacillates between her 18-year-old self and her 6-year-old self.

Trivia

  • The red sash worn around Ange's arm is aesthetically similar to the red belt that Kyrie wears around the same arm.
