Shannon (紗音, Shanon, born Sayo Yasuda) is a servant working under the Ushiromiya family on Rokkenjima. She has a habit of making mistakes and blunders when she is nervous, despite being an extremely talented and hardworking servant. She thinks of Kanon as her younger brother and like him, she feels she is inferior to humans, as she is only furniture. Despite this, she fell in love with George Ushiromiya and became engaged to him.

Background
Kinzo Ushiromiya, after the death of his lover, Beatrice Castiglioni, became infatuated with his daughter, Beatrice Ushiromiya. Beatrice Ushiromiya strongly resembled her mother and Kinzo, in a state of madness, believed her to be the reincarnation of his dead lover. He forced himself on her and impregnated her. Beatrice Ushiromiya gave birth to Sayo Yasuda. In order to hide Kinzo's sin from the world, Kinzo and Genji Ronoue offered the child to Natsuhi Ushiromiya, who had been having trouble conceiving a child of her own. Natsuhi, distressed and angry at the offer, pushed the servant carrying the child, resulting in both the servant and the infant Sayo falling off of a cliff. The servant died upon impact with the rocky bottom, however Sayo miraculously survived. Unfortunately, Sayo sustained heavy injury to the abdominal and genital regions, resulting in severe mutilation.
After recovering from the incident, Sayo was taken under the wing of the Fukuin House and was given the name "Shannon". After studying at the Fukuin House, Shannon went on to become a servant of the Ushiromiya family. In 1980, Shannon fell in love with Battler Ushiromiya and the two made a promise to marry each other when they were older. However, later that year Battler abandoned the Ushiromiya family and didn't return to Rokkenjima until 1986. As a result, Shannon and Battler didn't see each other after making their promise for six years. Unfortunately, Battler had forgotten their promise by the time he arrived on the island.
While Battler was distanced from the family, Shannon fell in love with George Ushiromiya. The pair's romance was kept a secret as George's mother, Eva, would strongly disapprove of George being intimate with a servant.
Appearance
Shannon appears as a well-endowed young woman with short brown hair and blue eyes. Her servant outfit consists of a black and white dress with purple lacing and accents, a short purple tie, and a white cap. Shannon has the One-Winged Eagle tattooed on her left thigh.
