Tataridamashi-hen, Part 4 (祟騙し編其ノ四, Curse-Deceiving Chapter, Part 4) is the twelfth episode of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Gou.
Summary
On June 17, 1983, Keiichi Maebara convinces a large group of people to join him at the Child Welfare Office, including Jirou Tomitake, Miyo Takano, and Kyousuke Irie. Despite this, the employees at the Child Welfare Office claim they will make a decision in a month's time. That night, Mion invites the club to the Watanagashi Festival planning meeting. While there, village chief Kiichirou Kimiyoshi and teacher Rumiko Chie warn Keiichi that his actions at the Child Welfare Office threatens the well-being of the Hinamizawa school. Mion and Shion Sonozaki explain the delicate situation surrounding the acceptance of the Houjou family to Keiichi.
Undeterred, Keiichi and his friends return to the planning meeting and force the topic of Satoko's mistreatment among the elders. Rena and Shion accuse the village elders of being in the pocket of the local government and ask them to fight against the inaction of the Child Welfare Office by comparing Satoko's situation to that of the Dam War. After some disagreement, the elders agree to help if they are given express permission by Oryou Sonozaki. The group organizes a meeting with Oryou but are turned away after protracted arguing.
