Lion Ushiromiya (右代宮 理御, Ushiromiya Rion) is the first child of Krauss and Natsuhi Ushiromiya. Lion was given the silver ring of the Head’s Successor and will succeed the position of family head upon turning 20. Mild, polite, and without any clear faults, Lion is more suitable to become the next head than any other, and is adored by Kinzo. Lion only appears in the miracle fragment timeline.

Profile

Background

Lion Ushiromiya is the incest-born child of Kinzo Ushiromiya and his daughter, Beatrice Ushiromiya. In an attempt to keep Kinzo's deed a secret, Lion was offered to Natsuhi Ushiromiya for adoption as Natsuhi was having trouble conceiving children of her own. Miraculously, Natsuhi accepted and raised Lion as her own child before giving birth to her biological daughter, Jessica.

Lion was student council president during both middle school and high school, as well as head of the badminton team.

Appearance

Lion has an androgynous look with long blond hair tied into a ponytail and a reddish-pink double-breasted suit over a white shirt. Lion wears a silver ring indicating Lion's upcoming succession to the headship. Lion's shirt collar and left pant leg have the One-Winged Eagle imprinted on them.

Personality

Lion is a mild and polite person without any clear faults. Lion strongly believes in equality regardless of gender or rank. Because of this trait, Lion dislikes being called "successor" by the rest of the family. Lion also doesn't like rude people and has a habit of pinching their butts.

Because people would often ask about Lion's gender, Lion admits to having a bit of a complex towards such questions. When Will asks what Lion's gender is, Lion presents a retort suggesting the answer to Will's question should be obvious.

Plot

Requiem of the Golden Witch

After Bernkastel seals the chapel away in a time-locked Fragment, she has Lion work with Willard H. Wright as his partner. Together, the two attempt to solve the murder of Beatrice. Willard eventually comes to the conclusion that Beatrice was killed by one of two different culprits, depending on the Fragment. Lion is one of the two, who "kills" Beatrice by existence alone; in a Fragment wherein Lion exists, Beatrice the witch does not. Conversely, in Fragments wherein Beatrice the witch exists, Lion does not (which is why Lion is not in any arc prior to Requiem of the Golden Witch). During this, Lion learns about their true heritage as both Kinzo's child and grandchild.

• Lion's name is pronounced "Lee-on" rather than "Lie-on".
• Lion's name may be derived from "Beatrice Castiglioni, since Lion is her grandchild.
• Willard H. Wright sometimes calls Lion his Watson. Lion even turns it back on him at one point by calling him "Willard Holmes".
• Lion's palatte swap in Ougon Musou Kyoku CROSS is based off the character Saber from Fate/Zero. They also share the same voice actress.
