Rumiko Chie (知恵 留美子, Chie Rumiko) is a character is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and is the sole teacher of the Hinamizawa school.

Appearance
Chie appears as a slender woman with a short blue hair and blue eyes. She wears a white dress decorated with a red ribbon. In her original sprite, there is a light blue jewel on the ribbon. In her Alchemist sprite, Chie wears a visible blue bra beneath her dress. She is always seen carrying a black notebook.
Personality
Chie is a naturally kind hearted and gentle person, but can become furious when anyone insults curry, or its history. This is made clear in Watanagashi-hen. The manga only touches upon it as a humorous aside, and the anime, does not mention it save in the light-hearted first episode of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei. Her favorite food is curry rice and she can react violently when anyone insults it, earning her the nickname "Curry Demon".
