Yoshihito Kanamori (金森　義仁, Kanamori Yoshihito) is a school teacher who serves as the main antagonist of the first chapter of Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni, "Mesomeso-san".

Personality

Kanamori is originally portrayed as a somewhat reliable teacher who defends his student, Marie Moriya, from the bullying of her classmates. Soon after, however, he begins to lust after Marie and takes advantage of her by molesting her and filming it for the purposes of blackmail as well as his own amusement. Kanamori doesn't completely view himself as a monster, claiming that people who are pure evil don't feel remorse for their actions, unlike Kanamori himself. However, as Kanamori's superiority complex grows, he feels less remorse for what he does.

Plot

Mesomeso-san

Kanamori abuses his position as a teacher to take advantage of one particularly weak student, Marie Moriya. He develops an obsession with Moriya and molests her in order to relieve stress induced from his job. Eventually, Moriya threatens to reveal the truth of her interactions with Kanamori to others, inciting Kanamori to strangle her to death. He drags Moriya's body to a sanitation tank and dumps the body inside, believing himself to have committed the perfect crime. However, Moriya soon returns as a youkai known as Mesomeso. As a youkai, she tricks Kanamori into entering the very bathroom he originally killed Moriya in and rips him apart.
