Red Truth

The Red Truth is a rule and weapon introduced by Beatrice in Turn of the Golden Witch. The Red Truth was conceived as a counter to Battler Ushiromiya's Devil's Proof.

Anything stated in the Red Truth is a fact that can be presented unquestionably without evidence. However, while the Red Truth is undeniable, it can have multiple interpretations. The Red Truth is an essential part of a battle between Humans and witches. If the Human side doesn't believe in the Red Truth then the trust between the two sides will falter and the game move into a stalemate.

When referring to specific statements in this article, a specific notion is used. For example, Statement 14 of Turn of the Golden Witch, is written as R2-14. "R" refers to Red Truth, "2" refers to Turn of the Golden Witch as Turn is the second game in Umineko no Naku Koro ni and "14" refers to the 14th statement.

Turn of the Golden Witch

  1. When I speak the truth, I will use red
  2. Everything I speak in red is the truth
  3. Regardless of whether they were living or dead, the six people definitely entered through the door (Refers to the six murders in the chapel)
  4. Only one key to the chapel exists
  5. It is impossible to unlock the lock to the chapel without the chapel's key
  6. When the door to the chapel is locked, it prevents any and all methods of entry or exit
  7. The six people definitely entered through 'this front door'
  8. This morning, Rosa definitely took an envelope out of Maria's handbag, and thereby obtained the genuine key to the chapel ("This morning" refers to the morning of the second day)
  9. The key to the chapel truly was the object inside the envelope I gave Maria
  10. The letter that I handed over to Maria and the one Rosa opened are the same thing
  11. The only master keys are the ones that each servant holds, one per person
  12. there are absolutely no types of hidden doors (Refers to Jessica's room)
  13. This door is the only way in or out
  14. The only way to lock this door is with Jessica's single key or the master keys, only one of which is held by each servant
  15. the window is locked from the inside
  16. Kanon was killed in this room
  17. When locked, entry is not possible by any means
  18. No trick could have the effect of locking the door from the outside without using a key
  19. Kanon was killed in this room (Refers to R2-16)
  20. There are no hidden doors in this room
  21. There is no way to get in or out other than the door and the window
  22. there are no hidden doors
  23. [Those are] kept in the key box in the center of the servants' room
  24. [There are several keys to the servants' room, but] all of those are inside the key box
  25. Entry or exit is impossible except for the single door and single window
  26. And those were both locked
  27. The door and the window do not permit any kind of entry or exit when they are locked
  28. it is impossible to unlock the door without a key to the servants' room or the master key
  29. No one exists in this room except all of you. 'All of you' refers to Battler, George, Maria, Rosa, Genji, Gohda, and Shannon
  30. When Jessica's corpse was discovered, only Battler, George, Maria, Rosa, Genji, Gohda, Shannon, Kumasawa, and Nanjo were in Jessica's room
  31. Jessica is also included
  32. Therefore, both in the case of Jessica's room and the case in this servants' room, no humans exist that you were not aware of
  33. No one is hiding
  34. No method exists by which the door can be locked from the outside without using a key. Regarding the window, no method exists by which it could somehow be locked from the outside
  35. You are incompetent
  36. hi-hhihihhihihihihihihihihihihi
  37. Come on, Ushiromiya Battler, kneel
  38. If you accept me, all of the riddles will be resolved
  39. With my power, any kind of closed room can be created or destroyed
  40. I'll make you my favorite furniture
  41. I'll love you so much, and make you my toy until you turn to ashes
  42. *cackle*cackle*cackle*hihihihihihihihihihihyahyahyahhahhahahaha-hhahahahhahhahhahhahhahhahha
  43. There are only five master keys
  44. There are only five master keys
  45. there are only five master keys
  46. I keep my promises (said by Beatrice)
  47. Natsuhi's room was exactly the same, just like usual
  48. The door and the windows were locked from the inside
  49. There is no fraud or trick, there is no means of secret passage and no hidden place
  50. Natsuhi's own key was in George's pocket, and the inside of the room was closed off
  51. Only the five master keys were left, and 'Rosa' was holding all of them
  52. And let me say this, the parlor's the same
  53. The original key to the parlor is sealed in the servants' room
  54. So unlocking it without the master key is impossible! The definition of a closed room is the same as always!

Banquet of the Golden Witch

Alliance of the Golden Witch

End of the Golden Witch

Dawn of the Golden Witch

Requiem of the Golden Witch

Twilight of the Golden Witch

  1. All doors can only be locked or unlocked with a master key.
  2. Of course, there are other ways to lock the doors from inside the room even without a master key.
  3. In this game, we'll consider master keys to be the only keys that exist.
  4. There are five master keys total. One is held by each of the five servants.
  5. The servants keep the master keys on their person at all times so it is impossible for them to be stolen, handed over, or used by any human other than themselves.
  6. All of the windows had steel bars on them, so it is impossible to enter or leave by them.
  7. We'll say that they can seal the whole mansion by sealing the two doors, the front one and the back one.
  8. The culprit of the first twilight really did kill six people.
  9. The group sealed the room at the same time they left. No culprit joined the group as they left. Also, all of the seals on Natsuhi's room, the dining hall, and the mansion itself will not be broken.
  10. From now on, Kanon is treated as being killed. Also, Kanon's master key is treated as being destroyed.
  11. outside of spoken statements, there are no lies in the narration.
  12. [Lambdadelta] guarantee[s] that it is possible to pinpoint the culprit with this information.
