The Red Truth is a rule and weapon introduced by Beatrice in Turn of the Golden Witch. The Red Truth was conceived as a counter to Battler Ushiromiya's Devil's Proof.

Anything stated in the Red Truth is a fact that can be presented unquestionably without evidence. However, while the Red Truth is undeniable, it can have multiple interpretations. The Red Truth is an essential part of a battle between Humans and witches. If the Human side doesn't believe in the Red Truth then the trust between the two sides will falter and the game will move into a stalemate.

Turn of the Golden Witch

  1. When I speak the truth, I will use red
  2. Everything I speak in red is the truth
  3. Regardless of whether they were living or dead, the six people definitely entered through the door (Refers to the six murders in the chapel)
  4. Only one key to the chapel exists
  5. It is impossible to unlock the lock to the chapel without the chapel's key
  6. When the door to the chapel is locked, it prevents any and all methods of entry or exit
  7. The six people definitely entered through 'this front door'
  8. This morning, Rosa definitely took an envelope out of Maria's handbag, and thereby obtained the genuine key to the chapel ("This morning" refers to the morning of the second day)
  9. The key to the chapel truly was the object inside the envelope I gave Maria
  10. The letter that I handed over to Maria and the one Rosa opened are the same thing
  11. The only master keys are the ones that each servant holds, one per person
  12. there are absolutely no types of hidden doors (Refers to Jessica's room)
  13. This door is the only way in or out
  14. The only way to lock this door is with Jessica's single key or the master keys, only one of which is held by each servant
  15. the window is locked from the inside
  16. Kanon was killed in this room
  17. When locked, entry is not possible by any means
  18. No trick could have the effect of locking the door from the outside without using a key
  19. Kanon was killed in this room (Refers to R2-16)
  20. There are no hidden doors in this room (Refers to R2-12)
  21. There is no way to get in or out other than the door and the window (Refers to R2-13 and R2-15)
  22. there are no hidden doors (Refers to R2-20)
  23. [Those are] kept in the key box in the center of the servants' room
  24. [There are several keys to the servants' room, but] all of those are inside the key box
  25. Entry or exit is impossible except for the single door and single window
  26. And those were both locked
  27. The door and the window do not permit any kind of entry or exit when they are locked
  28. it is impossible to unlock the door without a key to the servants' room or the master key
  29. No one exists in this room except all of you. 'All of you' refers to Battler, George, Maria, Rosa, Genji, Gohda, and Shannon
  30. When Jessica's corpse was discovered, only Battler, George, Maria, Rosa, Genji, Gohda, Shannon, Kumasawa, and Nanjo were in Jessica's room
  31. Jessica is also included
  32. Therefore, both in the case of Jessica's room and the case in this servants' room, no humans exist that you were not aware of
  33. No one is hiding
  34. No method exists by which the door can be locked from the outside without using a key. Regarding the window, no method exists by which it could somehow be locked from the outside
  35. You are incompetent
  36. hi-hhihihhihihihihihihihihihihi
  37. Come on, Ushiromiya Battler, kneel
  38. If you accept me, all of the riddles will be resolved
  39. With my power, any kind of closed room can be created or destroyed
  40. I'll make you my favorite furniture
  41. I'll love you so much, and make you my toy until you turn to ashes
  42. *cackle*cackle*cackle*hihihihihihihihihihihyahyahyahhahhahahaha-hhahahahhahhahhahhahhahhahha
  43. There are only five master keys
  44. There are only five master keys
  45. there are only five master keys
  46. I keep my promises (said by Beatrice)
  47. Natsuhi's room was exactly the same, just like usual
  48. The door and the windows were locked from the inside
  49. There is no fraud or trick, there is no means of secret passage and no hidden place
  50. Natsuhi's own key was in George's pocket, and the inside of the room was closed off
  51. Only the five master keys were left, and 'Rosa' was holding all of them
  52. And let me say this, the parlor's the same
  53. The original key to the parlor is sealed in the servants' room
  54. So unlocking it without the master key is impossible! The definition of a closed room is the same as always!

Banquet of the Golden Witch

  1. Of all of the doors that exist on Rokkenjima, none has a crack through which a key can slip.
  2. I have the power to speak the truth in red.
  3. In the forest of Rokkenjima, a hidden mansion called Kuwadorian exists.
  4. ...those two actually had a conversation like that in this place. (Refers to Kinzo and Beatrice Ushiromiya)
  5. This is the world of 1967.
  6. In 1967, in a hidden mansion on Rokkenjima, Beatrice-sama existed as a human.
  7. It's definitely dead. (Refers to Beatrice Ushiromiya)
  8. There are no more than 18 people on this Rokkenjima. ("This Rokkenjima" refers to the Rokkenjima of 1986.)
  9. There are five, one for each servant. (Refers to the master keys)
  10. Furthermore, all of the doors and windows in the 6 rooms are normal. ("The 6 rooms" refers to the parlor, the chpael, the boiler room, the VIP room, the waiting room, and the guest room.)
  11. No device exists which can lock them without a key, such as an auto-lock.
  12. 6 people: Kinzo, Genji, Shannon, Kanon, Gohda, and Kumasawa are dead!
  13. There is no one hiding in the six rooms!
  14. The six people died instantly!
  15. Only the victims are inside the rooms, and no other people exist inside the rooms.
  16. The six people were not killed by traps.
  17. None of the six people committed suicide!
  18. There are no more than 18 people on this island.
  19. Rosa and Maria died.
  20. The cause of death was as Nanjo diagnosed. (The diagnosis refers to the diagnosis for Rosa and Maria who were killed by a stab to the medulla oblongata with a pointed fence gate and strangling, respectively.)
  21. Rosa and Maria were killed by other people.
  22. I was in the room the whole time. (Said by Hideyoshi Ushiromiya in EVA's stead; "the room" refers to the room on the guesthouse's second floor.)
  23. Both before and after the time period of the crime...
  24. Kyrie was thinking that food was unnecessary.
  25. ...she claimed that they should not leave the guesthouse. ("She" refers to Kyrie Ushiromiya)
  26. [And yet, she herself] suggested that they leave the guesthouse to get food. ("She" refers to Kyrie Ushiromiya)
  27. ...the reason she changed her mind was not told to anyone, nor was it written down. ("She" refers to Kyrie Ushiromiya)
  28. Until the last instant before she died, Kyrie preserved her pattern of behavior which states, 'not going to get food equals not going to the mansion.'
  29. Kyrie did not leave anything written down.
  30. After Jessica was injured, Eva was always under Battler's supervision. (From this point on, all remaining red text for this game refers to this scenario.)
  31. Battler is neither the culprit nor an accomplice.
  32. By this, we can establish a perfect alibi for Eva.
  33. There are no more than 18 people on this island.
  34. No life forms other than humans have any connection to this game.
  35. Kinzo is dead.
  36. Krauss is dead.
  37. Natsuhi is dead.
  38. Hideyoshi is dead.
  39. George is dead.
  40. Rudolf is dead.
  41. Kyrie is dead.
  42. Rosa is dead.
  43. Maria is dead.
  44. Genji is dead.
  45. Shannon is dead.
  46. Kanon is dead.
  47. Gohda is dead.
  48. Kumasawa is dead.
  49. Nanjo is dead.
  50. The 15 people mentioned are dead.
  51. Battler is alive.
  52. Eva is alive.
  53. Jessica is alive.
  54. Eva was with you the whole time.
  55. So committing a crime was impossible for her. ("Her" refers to Eva Ushiromiya.)
  56. Of course, Battler-kun isn't the culprit.
  57. He wasn't forging an alibi for her, and he took the possibility that she was the culprit into account, watching her actions carefully. ("He" refers to Battler Ushiromiya.)
  58. No chance existed for her to do anything suspicious! ("Her" refers to Eva Ushiromiya.)
  59. In short, at the time of the crime, only Nanjo and Jessica were in the servants' room.
  60. Ushiromiya Jessica has not committed murder.
  61. She was not involved with Nanjo's murder.
  62. Her eyes were completely blocked.
  63. It's impossible for her to carry out a murder like that.
  64. Neither Eva nor Battler killed Nanjo, nor were they involved.
  65. The culprit who killed Nanjo was neither Battler nor Eva nor Jessica.
  66. Jessica's eyes were completely blocked, and murder was impossible for her.
  67. No actions caused by Jessica's body had any relation to or influence on the murder of Nanjo.
  68. This also applies to Battler and Eva.
  69. ...neither Jessica nor Battler nor Eva is the culprit who killed Nanjo.
