Assault (来襲) is the third chapter of the Hotarubi no Tomoru Koro ni manga.
Summary
While investigating the mountains, Masashi, Nobuteru, and Yukito Tadamura accidentally drive off of a cliff. They survive but are forced to ditch the car in order to return home. Upon doing so, Nobuteru informs the rest of the family that Hirasaka is completely trapped by the fog. The following day, the family splits up. Some of the family searches the now-empty houses of Hirasaka for food while Yukito, Yue, and Teruya set up a "Help" message using panels. While outside, the panel group is assaulted by a swarm of flies with human faces.
