"Why Are Closed Room Murders So Beautiful?" (密室殺人はなぜ美しいのか, Misshitsu satsujin wa naze utsukushī no ka) is a short story written by Ryukishi07 that was released alongside the first volume of the Legend of the Golden Witch manga. A fan-translation was later made available on AnimeSuki by the user milkypink.

Summary

The story is written from the perspective of Beatrice, the Golden Witch, and follows her fascination with the concept of closed room murder mysteries. She coins the term "Murder Art", describing how a work can be elevated to the category of art when it is shown to others and they accept its value; work that is never shared cannot be art.
