Hirasaka is a fictional village in Japan. Hirasaka serves as the primary location of Hotarubi no Tomoru Koro ni. The village has a set of strict customs that all villagers and visitors must adhere to. Any who fail to follow the customs are immediately ostracized from the village and often suffer significant harassment from other villagers. The harassment persists until said person leaves the village.
