Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Mei (ひぐらしのなく頃に 命, When the Cicadas Cry Life) is an upcoming mobile game developed by Smile Ax and published by D-Techno. The opening theme "frustration" will be composed by Chiyomaru Shikura and performed by Ayane. The game is set to release in Japan in 2020.

Story

June 1993, ten years after the "Great Hinamizawa Disaster" in 1983, in which about 1200 residents lost their lives due to released volcanic poisonous gas――

A girl who lost her family to the disaster, Ichiho Kimiyoshi, visits her abandoned hometown of Hinamizawa. But what stood in front of her were monsters she had never seen before. Ichiho desperately runs away. And at that time when she was forced into the predicament of despair, the mysterious existence "Tamurahime" appears and calls herself a god.

Ichiho, who obtained the power to fight "Tsukuyami" from her, is guided into the ritual tool shed in Furude Shrine. After entering the shrine, Ichiho came out to Hinamizawa at a time of peace.

On August 21, 2020, a new key visual for Higurasi no Naku Koro ni Mei was revealed alongside a collaborative event between the 2020 anime adaptation of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and the mobile game SINoALICE.
