Tokyo (Rose Guns Days)

(Redirected from Tokyo)

Tokyo (東京, Tōkyō) is the capital of Japan. On April 1, 1944, near the end of World War II, Tokyo was largely destroyed by a natural disaster and was subsequently occupied by American and Chinese forces. The occupation resulted in mass immigration to Japan as well as cultural assimilation with American and Chinese cultures.

The crime rate in postwar Japan was extremely high, especially in regards to crime in which Japanese people were the victim. There was an increasingly widening gap between the wealthy and the poor. Many men, if they couldn't speak English or Chinese, were either unemployed or attempted to find odd jobs as laborers. Japanese women managed to gain a degree of wealth through prostitution. Then yen replaced with the "Japanese dollar".
