The Manual of Style is the guide to how to style and format all When They Cry Wiki articles.

Summaries

Due to this wiki's dedication to a media franchise, summaries are among the most important aspect of any article, especially those pertaining to main-line content story arcs. The following rule should guide any and all summary writing: A summary should not be a thoroughly suitable replacement for consuming the original work. As such, excessively detailed summaries that sacrifice readability for the sake of completeness should be avoided.

If in doubt, use the page for Rika Furude as a reference. Any character with a sprite should be given their own article. Characters who appear in anime adaptations or manga adaptations but have no existing sprite should be added to a pertinent "Lesser Characters" page unless there is an adequate reason for them to be given their own page (e.g. Sayo Yasuda).

Episode pages

Episode pages should generally respect the following structure:

If a character appears for the first time in the entire anime then add (first appearance) to their name under the "Characters" section. By entire anime, this includes previous seasons (e.g. if Rika Furude first appears in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, do not add a (first appearance) tag to her first appearance in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei, the third season of the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni anime).

Section headings

If these is a "See also" section, it should be the last section on the page, unless there is a "References" section. If there is a "References" section, it should always be the last section on the page.
