In the prologue, Battler attends a funeral with Virgilia in the [[Chapel]]. Virgilia says a prayer and Battler places a book inside a coffin. The book is a tale he dedicated to the Beatrice he could not reach in time: "''Dawn of the Golden Witch''". This is the most beautiful tale he could weave and is a secret between them that no one will ever defile. After a few glances at the coffin, Battler leaves the Chapel with Virgilia. 
 
In the Tea Party, Battler finally returns to Rokkenjima after six years. andHe goesfeels abouttwinges normalof interactionsjealousy withupon thelearning cousinsof until Kyrie and RudolfGeorge's murdersrelationship begin. The two originally intended to pull Battler into their plan but both are killed by Eva before Battler could ever speak to them. What exactly occurs after Rudolf called Battler out to the Chapel is shrouded in mystery as he is never shownwith afterwardsShannon.
 
In the epilogue, Battler consoles a crying Ange by telling her of tale with a happy ending taking place on October 5th, 1986. That way, it is not really clear if the last game has Bernkastel or Battler as Game Master.
